Tune For Tuesday

Why Tuesdays?
Well, why not? Many around the blogosphere choose to do music features on a Monday and that can get a bit repetitive, so here is a tune for Tuesday, incase you are devoid of new music or would simply like some more!
Why music?
Music has been an incredibly important part of my life. I have always been passionate about it in one way or another. At one point I was in the choir, the production, the recorder ensemble, having music lessons, having trombone lessons, playing trombone in our senior band, helping out the lower bands with performances, playing percussion in the lower bands, band captain and that was all in the one year. Trust me when I say that music is important to me.

But music to me is in fact more than that. NOTE: I tell you all this not for sympathy or pity or anything other than to explain why music is important. I have suffered from many different illnesses, mental and physical, and music has been the only thing that has helped me to keep my sanity.

When I was finding it difficult to think clearly and positively, struggling to keep above board, music drowned out the negativity and gave me a chance to not think or worry or stress. I could just simply listen to the music.

Music has been the one constant in my life. It has been a source of peace and quiet, company and happiness. And I love it. So I shall my love for music with you. I hope you find something you like!!!!
So here is my first video for you. It's by no means new or unappreciated but I chose this partly because it is an awesome song, partly because I love the Foo Fighters but mostly because this is one of the best and funniest music videos I have ever watched. I beg of you to watch the actual clip, it will be worth it!!!!!
Please tell me what you think of it. And have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!

5 Facts Friday

Hi lovelies!!!
So it has been a few weeks since I have posted so I thought I would do a "5 Facts Friday" post on what has kept me busy lately.

1. I have just started uni and am studying a bachelor of nursing. It's only a week into my course and I am already swamped. It's so different from school so I have been busy trying to get the hang of it.

2. Following on from no. 2, I already have my first placement coming up and I have to get everything in order for that. That includes getting all relevant immunisations, blood test, police checks, equipment, uniform fittings, CPR certificate and more!!! There's so much to do!!!

3. I am an anaphylaxis and I had a bit of a reaction last week. Nothing major, so please don't fret,  but it did mean that I spent a fair amount of my night, and following day, in the hospital. Since it was the day before I started uni, I figured it was merely my "pre-placement"! I'm not sure what it was to this time, but I think it was these Korean chips I had. They were like normal crisps/cold chips/whatever you call them (or they are like flings if your South African) but they were banana flavoured. And they were extraordinary. And I would eat them again regardless of allergies!!!

4. I have an obsession with downloading. This sounds quite odd, but I just learnt how to torrent stuff. I don't know if that is a commonly known term, but oh boy, it should be. It means that all those tv shows that I never get round to watching because I am never home at the same time each week, or because they only show in America or because I love them so much that I feel it is silly to watch it on tv when I could watch it now... I can finally watch. It's so quick and free and easy and ad-free and brilliant.

5. I have a little puppy named Yahoo (who is in fact 7 years old but cute and small so she's still my puppy) and she has been sick so I've been spending sometime taking care of her.

- A photo of Yahoo when she was a puppy. Blurry but so cute!!

Fill In The Blank Friday

1. I started my blog because I found some other blogs by accident and began reading them and loved the idea of this world that is so lovely and friendly and inspiring and I just decided that I wanted to be a part of that. I also loved the idea of this new form of creativity. A place where I could write my thoughts (and I do like writing my thoughts!) and one where you design create and display your true self. I like the fact that in real life, personality sits beneath the surface until you begin to get to know a person, but in the blog world, it's all laid out for everyone to see and there is something so very honest about that.

2. One thing I love seeing on other blogs personal stuff that really shows insight to the writer, pretty things, inspiration!

3. Something I love about blogging I love the community. It is so unbelievable that such a large group of people can all have so much in common and be so unfathomably kind, caring and supportive.

4. A favourite blog post of mine is probably ooooh... goodness. I liked my one about learning to blog for myself.

5. Something my friends in real life know about me that I've never before mentioned on my blog is ... I guess there are lots of things. I'm not saying that I hide things or lie, but I guess all of us, when writing construct what's in our posts. It's the same for people in real life. I don't often share all of the really personal stuff unless I need someone to talk to or they ask or they're around when it happens. And often I forget what I have told and what I haven't. It's not intentional, I swear.  I guess also, I don't enjoy people feeling sorry for me when I'm really okay. But for now, one thing I've never mentioned on my blog is ... I cut my own hair. Is that juicy enough for you?

6. My new favourite blogs to read are currently : Cheeky Cheeky, Wake Up, Lovely, A Hopeless Notebook, and so many more that I just can't think of at the moment.

7. Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are  posting. Just kidding. Sort of. Negativity or posting things that I don't think anyone will be interesting in. But screw that! I will post what ever I want. Just read this post. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

My Wednesday Night

Tonight, I am...
Watching Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, sitting curled up with my blanket and my puppy despite the fact that it's the middle of summer, drinking coffee, thinking of some new blogging ideas (stay tuned because there will be some new things up next week), and loving my relaxing Wednesday evening.

What are you up to tonight???

My Photographic Weekend!

This weekend, I went to my very first photography class. It was so, so, so much fun!! This class was all about optimising manual settings to get the best people shots. Here are some of the photos I took during the class!!! They have not been edited and please ignore the fact that they are of coffee cups!!!

What did you do this weekend?
