Camera Bag

Soo, I am in the process of buying my very first DSLR (WOW YIPPEE HUZZAH!!) and I figure that if I am investing a considerable amount of money into a good camera, I should also invest in a good camera bag to protect my precious. Although, I am not made of money so the cheaper the better!

I have spent my morning not studying, and instead searching for bags, especially on etsy, as well as reading many helpful blogs and this is what I've found so far. Please tell me what you think!

Or I could simply buy an insert for my bag so that I can use whichever bag I already own?

Tell me what you think!! Or if you know of any other bags I may like?

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

Thankyou for visiting my blog, I hope you're having a wonderful day!

  5. Wow, you made a really nice selection, though I was shocked at some of the prices.
I myself have one from LowePro(it was 80 euros I think, which is still way more than I'd ever spend on a regular bag), you can see it here in the 2nd and 3rd picture:

What I think a camera bag should have:
A shoulder strap and a regular handle. I don't think I could do without either one of those.
The look of a regular handbag. Though I have a LowePro, and it's a well known camera bag brand, I do have one in an unusual color. I didn't want one that screamed out to everyone in the streets "I have an SLR in here!";)
Enough space to also put your wallet and phone in. Because it's such a pain if you have to take an extra handbag with you.
It has to have room for an extra lens. You might not be thinking about that now, but chances are you'll buy one some day.
And it's nice if it's waterproof.

As for the camera, I also have a Nikon. A D3000. The newer one(D3100) has the ability to film as well, and I'm a bit sad mine doesn't. So if you'd have to pick between the latest model or the one before, I'd probably go for the latest one.
Anyway, either of them make a very decent camera and I love mine! But... if you really want something that is still "affordable"(though definitely more expensive) and one that might actually be used by professionals, you could get the D5100.
However the D3000/D3100 are amazing too!

Also, if you could save a lot of money on getting a kit that has more zoom than the 55 you get with the standard 18-55 lens, you might want to consider that. Though it's definitely something you could add later on;)

Phew, long story haha. Hope it was of any help and that I didn't make things more complicated! Anyway, have fun! And I look forward to seeing what you decide:)
